With all the makings of a hidden gem, Troy Alistair is rooted in rock but restless in spirit. This five-piece outfit refuses to stay in one lane, bending the rules with flashes of funk, hip-hop, indie, and pop to create something entirely their own.
At the core of it all is a friendship that started on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Taran Guest (lead vocals, guitar) and Maxwell Cranford (lead guitar) were the kind of kids who tested limits. Devilish,
sure, but always drawn to the same thing: music.
Troy Alistair came fully into focus with the addition of Adam Bourque (bass), Logan Burke (drums), and Dave MacKean (keys). Together, the band found a new sound: raw but refined, familiar but unpredictable, it’s a sound you want to turn up.
Their upcoming album, led by the soon-to-be-released breakout single Wave Song, pulls from timeless themes: love, loss, growing up, screwing up and figuring it out.
